The Team
Meet the people behind Brighter Days. We're all volunteers who share one thing in common: we love dogs and want to help them find happy homes.
Raine McCaughtrie
Founder and Kennel Manager
Raine, the Founder and Kennel Manager of Brighter Days Rescue, has been dedicated to rescuing dogs since 2021. She is the proud owner of three dogs – Cavachon's Alfie and Jessie, and Cockapoo Luna – who are often found sleeping in the office. Raine holds a Level 5 qualification in Dog Behaviour, Canine and Kennel Management, and Canine First Aid.
With an honours degree in Early Years and 30 years of experience working with children, Raine now focuses on her rescue work. Her goal is to assist families in choosing the perfect companion, assess dog behaviour, and conduct basic training sessions to prepare dogs for their new homes.
Amy Cashmore
Director and Volunteer Coordinator
Amy is a dedicated dog lover and proud dog mum to Cato, a Bullmastiff x Caucasian Ovcharka, and Alisa, an American Bulldog. Amy works full-time supervising a local sports bar and dedicates her spare time to supporting Brighter Days Rescue.
She is the driving force behind our incredible team of volunteers, managing inductions and ensuring every shift is fully covered. Amy is a mum of two young daughters who already demonstrate great potential and enthusiasm for rescue work, assisting our behaviourist in safely assessing dogs around children.
