Timmy

Available at our kennels based in Lancaster Meet Timmy! Timmy is a small dog with the biggest heart. Timmy is a Barak, properly known as a Bosnian Broken-Haired Hound (or Bosnian Coarse-Haired Hound) – a breed known for its gentle nature and loyalty. Sadly, Timmy didn’t have the best start in life. As a young pup, he lived on a short chain, and by around three months old his legs began to grow painfully crooked. His owner couldn’t cope and was planning to have him put to sleep – until a kind rescuer Natasa Ivanovic, stepped in and gave him a chance at life. Thanks to the generosity of the supporters of “Saving the Street Dogs in Bosnia”, funds were raised for two major operations in Zagreb – one on each leg – where pins and braces were fitted to help him walk again. His recovery was long and brave, and although he’ll never be able to walk far, Timmy has learned his own special way of getting around – affectionately known as his “butt walk!” He enjoys short 5-10 minute strolls, gentle potters in the garden, and most of all, lots of cuddles. Timmy will always need a calm, loving home that can give him comfort and care for life. Because of his early injuries, he may develop arthritis or other joint issues as he grows older, so his perfect adopter will be someone prepared – both emotionally, and financially – to support any future needs. In return, Timmy will give endless affection, funny little wiggles, and a heart full of gratitude.
